Department of Visual Communication conducted Kaatchi 2026 short film fest on 28th February, 2026. Students from various colleges such as D.G. Vaishnav College, Vels Institute of Science and Technology, Sathyabama University, St.Thomas College of Arts and Science, ICAT College of Design and Media, submitted their short films out of which 10 short films were selected and screened in the presence of Director Vignesh Karthich, and Cinematographer Jebin Reginald.

The short films were screened in the preview theatre followed by prize distribution with cash prizes, trophies and certificates given to the winners and participants. Director Vignesh Karthik, Cinematographer Mr. Jebin Rejinald.
